"Big in Japan" is part of the “Belgian Times Ahead” series which was created in the villages of Idzbark and Stare Jabłonki at the turn of the months of October and November 2015. There was a sense of a harsh approaching winter lingering in the air. I was getting ready to move into our newly built home. It was a time of transformations, closures, and an anticipation of new beginnings that were just about taking shape in the distance. It was during this time, too, that the atmosphere of a certain life stage coming to an end was becoming more and more dense, and it was as though I was wading in melancholy much alike heavy draught horses in the mist.
