An influx of competing hire bike companies resulted in an excessive number of bikes on the streets, often found in large piles across the city. During a month long trip to Wuhan in 2017, I documented the daily lives of it's inhabitants. The resulting body of work has become a perfect time capsule, recording a moment in Wuhan's history before its indefinite link to the pandemic. "an expansive portrait of the city depicting its natural warmth, but juxtaposed against its towering architectural landscape. A praised body of work even out of the context of how we widely recognise Wuhan now". Lucy Bourton, It's Nice That. Medium Format colour negative professionally scanned and printed using Hahnemuhle PhotoRag cotton based archival paper. Editions come with a certificate of authenticity from the print studio.
