ART DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "CACTUS TOWER" One of these saguaros is fascinating, but a whole group of them towering overhead is amazing! I was happy with the backdrop of the tree on the left to offer some contrast to all the prickly needles and texture. The sky offers negative relief, and the variegated spacing of the saguaros redefines the perspective and depth of field. You are invited into the scene as their vertical line nearly spans the entire image from their base to the sky, as if looking up at a skyscraper. The intimacy of their grouping is also something captivating, as if there's a certain wildness in the space. This natural phenomenon is how the image holds one's attention and the tree mirrors how all of them cohabitate. PRINT DETAILS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Limited to an edition of 35 regardless of size. This means I will produce only 35 original signed prints of this image regardless of size. This print will include a 1 1/2" border that will be signed & numbered. Comes with a signed & numbered Certificate of Authenticity. This image will be printed using archival inks and Epson Papers Exhibition Fiber. This fine art paper is 325gsm, Fiber Photo Paper, Glossy Finish, Wide Gamut. Brandon LeValley (1954) is a photographic artist from the United States. In 1976 he graduated from Washington State University where his Bachelor’s Degree included Art studies. He’s always had a passion for photography. That desire was fueled early in life when he was still shooting film and utilizing a darkroom to process images. Holding a final print offered a world of experience seeing how the light on a subject materialized. Years later he realized the digital camera had revolutionized processing. Today, he converts most images to black and white and often shoots botanicals for their dramatic lines and shape. He’s also drawn to architecture and landscapes. Living near Joshua Tree National Park provides many dramatic configurations that come from his explorations. While his journey in photography has evolved, it’s often ignited by striking lighting. He’s fascinated by the abstract and uses every tool to achieve a finished composition. A unique image, he believes, comes about by a disciplined and oftentimes exhaustive approach. Knowing the payoff can be rewarding, that commitment to detail ultimately renders a more compelling work.
