In the late 2000's the LA art scene was enthralled with New York. Even our apartments were described as New York. Having worked as both an assistant and as a photographer in New York, I was all in. New York's magic enthralled me, and i was going to make a push for it. But my heart has always belonged to Los Angeles. The proud and native Los Angeleno in me said, New York can wait. There's so much soul in Southern California, the land where people go to follow their dreams and never return.
