When I am working it is like traveling, seeing feeling smelling, trying to remember and understand the world around me. Getting stuck and find a way out. This work is like a letter (the long form of a scroll), an untold story. The rithm of waves/words catching light. Forward and nostalgia? Since the late 90's when I took a course in Computer aided Arts and Graphics, I make digital compilations (resulting in prints and video). The final print is only after experimenting which base e.g. difference in paper, aluminum, wood or plexiglass. The print is on special Hahnemuhle byrita paper. It can be fixed on dibond-aluminum with a hanging support.

Hetty van der Kloot _Nature in all its forms, its vulnerability and non-permanent existence is my concept. Photo's, sketches and notes are the transitory means. The computer is my studio and the different software is my tool. The digital means, which I work with since 1996, come close to the nature/life process. Using layers of existing forms, interacting with one another, I end up with new, sometimes inexplicable forms. The resulting artwork is another layer, either as a print, object, installation or video. My hope is that it triggers a “conversation” in different situations with different viewers with a different point of view or background. _ After graduating from the Academy for the Arts (AKI) in Enschede (1984), The Netherlands, Hetty van der Kloot’s main interest was three-dimensional work with transparent and/or reflective material. Her interest in nature's vulnerability stayed with her once she started working with the computer. Hetty lived for many years in the Netherlands, Canada, Russia, Argentina and the United Kingdom and frequently participated in solo and group exhibitions. She now lives and works in the Netherlands. In the late nineties she took a two-year course in Computer Aided Arts and Graphics in the U.K. In 2007 and 2008 she participated in several video master classes organized by Tom van Vliet of the (former) World Wide Video Festival. The computer becomes Hetty's most important working-tool. She uses the computer as a microscope and telescope at (almost) the same time. The original videos and photographs she takes are being scrutinized, reproduced, stretched and interacted with one another. The end product of her works are either short videos or compilations printed on different fine art papers or canvas. Unless otherwise mentioned, the works are in 3 different sizes and in a limited edition of 3. Each work comes with an authenticity document and is signed and numbered by the artist. Works are carefully packed and sent in a sturdy tube. It can either be hanged as it is, or wrapped on wooden frames (canvas prints) or framed according your own taste.
