About The Artwork

Giclée print with Archival Pigment In 2009 the city of L’Aquila were hit by an hearthquake, which ruined the great part of the city. Despite relevant destructions, the appearance of the city looked preserved since most of the buildings imploded from inside. At night due to the random combination of surviving public lighting and security lights, the buildings emerge as the backstage of a finished show. The print comes with two centimetres of white border on each side Image dimension: 15,7x23,6 Sheet dimension: 17,32x25,2 Also available: 23,6x35,4 Limited Edition of 9 $ 1.150 Original: negative colour film 6x9cm Includes signed Certificate of Authenticity. Italian photographer Fulvio Orsenigo was born in Milan in 1961. In 1992 he moves to Venice where he still lives and works. His interest in landscape and architecture dates back to adolescence, when he wandered through his hometown just for the pure pleasure of looking. Always interested in the deep structures that underlie the forms, he sees in the photographic medium the tool to investigate the perceptive processes that shape our world, no matter if it is natural or artificial, and to measure the discrepancy between what we actually see and what we think we are seeing. He works with both analogue and digital photography and recognizes the work of Kazmir Malevic and Anselm Kiefer as a fundamental reference in the development of his artistic vision. Orsenigo has exhibited in important institutions including The Biennale of Venice (1997, 2016), the Triennale of Milano (2011), the Palazzo Ducale in Venice (2012), the CCA in Montreal (1998) and the Museum of Palazzo Fortuny in Venice (2004)
