This photograph is part of a series of documentary photographs, based around the ever changing Dartmoor landscape. This will be a life long series for me. The harshness and rugged landscape of Dartmoor, the land I grew up in, means a great deal to me. I will travel out there year on year and document it's beautiful landscape.

Kerry Gerdes is a fine art photographer. Born and raised in Plymouth, Devon. She has the rugged moors of Dartmoor national park on one side and to the other, lush coastline. She has the best of both worlds, and nature and the world around her definitely influence her work. Kerry’s work is often abstract; however, she usually uses the landscape she's grown up in as a starting point for her photographs. She is inspired by the landscape, by the desire to create and produce more work, but also other photographers before her. She first saw the work of Saul Leiter around ten years ago, and was instantly inspired and in awe of what you can create with colour film and photography. Kerry has developed her own style to include primarily colour in her own work. She was selected as one of “100 artists to watch” in 2014, when she was chosen to feature her work in a London group exhibition, in London’s Schwartz gallery. She has also exhibited her work in New York, and her home county of Devon.
