ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was in Tiradentes, Minas Gerais, Brazil, when I took this photograph. The historic center of this city is very well preserved and the houses have very colorful doors and windows. I was motivated to photograph this door because I thought the texture of the aged paint was beautiful, including the fact that it peeled off and revealed the wood itself, at the bottom. The neutrality of the colors, simplicity, and beauty of this photograph is sure to pique the interest of many art collectors.

Martiniano Ferraz is a Brazilian artist who lives in Recife, Pernambuco. It was during holiday trips, while still working as an architect, that he was charmed by photography. Nature, architecture and the urban are the themes he usually photographed. From 2020, while isolated in his home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Martiniano Ferraz began to produce also geometric and abstract digital arts, where it is common to have vibrant colors and three-dimensional effects. One of its greatest sources of inspiration, in the use of color, is the art produced by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes.
