About The Artwork

In this captivating black and white photograph, the beauty of impermanence takes center stage as dried leaves reveal the intricate tapestry of their existence. The texture of the veins in these leaves, etched by the hands of time, serves as a visual symphony that speaks to the profound philosophy of transience. Each delicate detail on the withered leaves mirrors the passage of time, celebrating the inherent elegance found in decay. The interplay of light and shadow highlights the subtle nuances of life's journey, inviting contemplation on the transient nature of beauty and the wisdom gained through the aging process. This photograph becomes a poignant reminder that, like these leaves, our own journeys are imprinted with the wisdom of experiences. In the intricate patterns of the veins, we find a metaphor for the interconnectedness of all things, showcasing the delicate balance between life, decay, and the enduring beauty that persists even in the face of change. Acquire this photograph not just as a visual masterpiece but as a daily prompt for philosophical reflection. Let it inspire you to appreciate the beauty in every stage of existence and embrace the timeless wisdom that comes with the passage of time.

Marcelo Magalhães is a figure who transcends the boundaries of medicine and art. He was born in Brazil, in a small city in the center-west of Minas Gerais State. His multifaceted journey has led him to explore the fields of neurosurgery, photography, music and painting. After completing his medical studies at the State University of Montes Claros, Magalhães decided to follow his passion for neurosurgery and after having experience producing anatomical figures for his neuroanatomy book he realized that another passion had been born there. Around 2015, he began his experience with photography, which he achieved with some photography books published. Photography sometimes came, accompanied by a somewhat historical touch, due to the fact that some of his books present cultural data about the place. In photography, there are different lines of work: some work on textures, especially those in black and white, others on the symmetry of geometric shapes and architecture. Painting came recently, in a self-dictated way, following different paths, abstract and figurative. In abstract painting, he uses bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors to evoke deep emotions and sensations. Freedom and inner feeling are expressed in the mixture of antagonistic colors and often through lines. His abstract works often draw inspiration from his experience as a neurosurgeon, exploring the complexity of the mind. Abstract painting expresses the artist's interior at that moment. On the other hand, his figurative approach reveals bucolic environments and gardens. In music, his experience began around the age of 14 with the classical guitar. He recently recorded the album Genesis, which brings together 8 classical guitar compositions. Marcelo Magalhães personifies artistic expression, proving that the boundaries between disciplines can be fluid when passion and art come together in harmony.
