‘Element’ is a Part of ‘Through a window’ project, a personal series about me and ‘The Enchanter’. Originally shot with natural light, indoors, against a huge circle window, which created an interesting negative lighting effect. The water element symbolizes the strength, longevity and happiness. Inspired by Ikaria trip, Greece. The island is named after Icarus, the young man in Greek mythology who flew too close to the sun and plunged into the sea, according to legend, close to Ikaria. On average people live here 10 years longer than those in the rest of Europe and America. Not only that, but they also have much lower rates of cancer and heart disease, suffer significantly less depression and dementia, maintain a sex life into old age and remain physically active deep into their 90s. What is the secret of Ikaria? What do its inhabitants know that the rest of us don't? ‘Anything worth doing, is worth doing right.’ Hunter S.
