About The Artwork

Initially this image was inspired by my wife´s kimchi fermented salad jar bursting apart due to, too much heat exposure. Cleaning up the mess after this. I got an idea, as I usually get. So I rigged up a set on black PVC material, set up a 3 point lighting rig. "And went to town" so to say. This work is more or less a metaphor for our somewhat broken world system. Empires come and they simmer down, and are erased from our world, or out of our collective memory. It is probably the most well known icon the last 137 years, and that icon spans the whole realm of our system in the world today. Of course some special effects, had to be added. The execution in my studio, well it demanded some brute force. Some water was added in the bottle. And being the crack shot I am. I took a simple BB gun and while pressing the shutter button on my very high speed camera, I at the same time fired several rounds into the glass bottle. In post production I layered several frames together. Glass is made from melting sand. Check it out, it is true. And when glass erodes, it goes back again to it´s original form, sand. Many meanings here. Well first of all don´t build your house on a foundation of sand..

I have been photographing since I was 13 years old. Often using my fathers analog SLR camera. After film and photo school in the start of the 1990´s. My career started to take off. My inspiration mostly came from the pioneering American photographers, Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, to mention a few. Also various surreal classical artist. Almost all subjects regarding photography, interest me. Therefore You will find a wide range of subject matter and different approaches in styles. I love being out in nature and do landscape work, I work alone, and forget time and place sometimes, patience is probably the most important virtue in photography. Today I mostly concentrate on creating my conceptual art works. Hyper realism and also surrealism, shape my other artistic creations, by combining many layers and photos into one image, sometimes building and painting props to merge them into the final image. To tell a subtle story, I had my own darkroom, developed my own film, and created my own black and white prints. Parallel to my Film & TV career, I never put down my photo cameras. In the early 2000´s, I started working professionally with still photography for various clients, shooting advertisements, portraits and architecture photography. Having my own photo studio. I started illustrating books from 2003, and created film documentaries for various international clients all the way up to 2018. Today I only work with my conceptual art and landscape projects. 30 years of traveling to most parts of the world, covering war, hunger, and doing commercial work. I really wanted to focus all my attention on my art projects. I have received a considerable amount of international fine art photo awards the last 20 years. I now sell artworks to organizations, book publishers and private persons. I have received many international photo awards the last years, for my works of art. I have also been published in several international art publications in the last 3 years. My works, and my style is probably quite different from many other in my field. I am classical kind of artist. I like the old naturalistic style. Often can some of my works be interpreted as having a look of paintings, this is intentional from my perspective. My curiosity is boundless, mostly I visualize certain concepts, and draw up by hand what I want to create. I strive to make my composite creations as organic as possible.
