Aleksandr Kuznetsov - born in Siberia. Photographer. Director, scriptwriter, cameraman of documentary films. Champion of the USSR in mountaineering, 1987, 1990. Participant of the ascent to Everest on a new route, 1996. For many years worked as a photojournalist in the Siberian press. In the French four-part movie: “La Russie dans l'objectif” (ARTE France, Artline Films, 2017), which shows the work of contemporary Russian photographers, in the first series “In Search of Utopia” - a story about Alexander Kuznetsov. “From the vastness of the Siberian mountains to dehumanized prisons and factories, Aleksandr Kuznetsov questions the boundaries between oppression and freedom.”
