Faces - Tulip Creek Falls Photograph - Limited Edition of 10

It wasn't until I photographed Tulip Creek Falls using my 4x5 view camera that the true spirituality of the location presented itself to me. Looking at ground glass the waterfall appeared upside down and backwards. I was using the many delicate arms of the waterfall to create my composition. Late the following evening I was in the darkroom about to make my first black and white print from the waterfall negative. As the enlarger timer counted down the lengthy first exposure I was looking at the image being projected onto the clean white sheet of photo paper. Starring at the paper I was shocked to notice a mysterious image of a face looking back at me. A little unnerving at 11:30 at night, alone in the darkroom. After processing, washing and drying the print I then had a chance to see what the image was all about. Not just one, but three faces have since graced the image. When showing a viewer the prominent face they usually continue to search the image and usually find one or two more. The original 4" x 5" black and white negative has since been drum scanned at a high resolution. The drum scan has been used to make a detailed and precise master file from the original negative. This image is available as an edition of seven prints. The image is 12" x 15" matted with 3" of white mat on each side. It is then framed under glass using a narrow black metal frame. Each print is signed and numbered by me. A certificate of authenticity accompanies each print. All work is done by me. The edition is printed on Moab Entrada Rag Natural Coldpress 300, a texture rich 300 gsm paper perfect for such an original image.
