About The Artwork

My work presents a profound black and white photograph that sensitively captures the transience of memories. At the center is a nostalgic cuddly toy, a "sheep" that has gained charm over the years. Attached to this sheep is a picture of me as a child, a visual link to times gone by. The sheep is hanging on a washing line, which gives the picture a symbolic level. The clothesline, normally used to dry clothes, serves here as a metaphor for time moving on. The image of me as a child, carefully attached to the cuddly toy, becomes a delicate commentary on the passage of time through this visual staging. The decision to use black and white reinforces the timeless quality of the work and emphasizes the emotional nuances. The lighting could be used to softly illuminate the texture of the cuddly toy and the details of the child's photo to create a melancholic atmosphere. This artwork invites the viewer to travel back in time and reflect on the fleeting nature of childhood, the changes over time and the subtle beauty of past memories.

My name is Franz Hein, I was born in Ehrstädt, now Sinsheim, in 1965 and spent a lot of time in my youth with my photographer grandfather. I currently live in northern Germany near the Dutch border in the far west. Influenced by my grandfather, I came into contact with photography at a very early age and pursued it as a hobby for a long time, whereby technique and creative development improved with age. Over the years I have photographed many things, but never felt the real satisfaction with my work. As I was self-taught in photography, it was natural to study the works of various artists and art movements in photography. That's how I finally found my passion for not only No, I find myself and my works predominantly in the conceptual black and white photography, which had its heyday in the 60s to the end of the 70s. The often very abstract features of my works reflect in a certain way today's zeitgeist. Some colorful abstract photographs also found their way into my online gallery, but the emphasis lies in the monochrome design with contrasts and the play with light and shadow as well as the reduction to the essential. My ambition is to create few, but unique and well elaborated art photographs instead of many works in series. works in series I would like to share with you.
