A river which dug itself deep into the rock base, through thousands of years, now surrounded by deforested farmlands no longer apt at holding the rains within the soil; so water just runs down directly into the rock channel, with the immediate fury of a rejected entity. This is what is 'now', the beginning of the long desertification process through a multiple adaptations, from land and vegetation.
