About The Artwork

In 2010, I visited the Muradymovo Gorge for the first time. A couple of weeks before my arrival, it suffered from a severe fire. As a result, the western slope was almost completely burnt out. I returned there eight years later. The nature was able to recover itself. Young trees were growing up, and grass was knee-deep. It would seem that nothing reminded the once happened tragedy. But among the greenery, throughout the plateau, the forest was dead. Trees which did not survive the fire gone by were dried up and crooked as if reminding a dramatic human error. • All photos are printed on high quality Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper with 2-3 cm white border. The author controls the printing personally. • Shipping - unframed, rolled in a tube. • Each photo is supplied with a Certificate of Authentication and an author’s signature. If you are looking for another size or alternative technique, please contact the Saatchi Art team: they will check with me what is possible and available.

I was born, live and work in the city of Chelyabinsk, Ural. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the South Ural State University. In 2018-2020, I worked in the Photo Heritage Department in the State Historical Museum of the South Urals. Member of the Union of Photographers of Russia. Member of the Chelyabinsk photo club "Kamenny Poyas" (Stone Belt). The basic topics of my creative work are closely related to my small motherland. The Urals bears the traces of global human intervention in the external environment in an attempt to rebuild it to fit the specific needs. It is a region where the magnificent nature coexists with environmentally unfriendly areas and many industrial facilities. In my works, I consider the interaction between man and nature, ecology, industrial and post-industrial history of the region. I study the natural and social landscapes of the Urals. In addition, some part of my work is devoted to the abstract photography.
