Foggy Valley View Photograph

This is my prize photo - It won 2nd Place Nationally in the National Wildlife Federation Photo Contest of 2014 in a field of 65,000 entrants. ​ Late in the afternoon on a warmish November Day: As the sun got quite low and left the Valley floor, the air temperature near the snowy ground dropped below the dew point. This caused the high moisture content to precipitate out of the cool air in the form of fog. This happened while the setting sun shined weakly through the clouds on El Cap and while the full moon began to rise. This was one of those rare events when everything just worked out to produce this very surreal scene. I was fortunate to be there at this magic time. Amazing!
