To be a good photographer you need first of all the should of an intrepid explorer” tells Piera. She is in her late thirties and has successfully exhibited from David Gill Galleries, to Black and White gallery, to the Gla Center to Thomas Williams Fine art to the Rich mIx foundation, the Italian Embassy, Fiumano Fine art and with numerous collaboration with italian and international magazines like Esquire, Luxury Magazine, The Wip.
Piera Costantini Scala was trained at the Black and white school of Photography and at Magnum Photos workshops in Tuscany, inspired by the great masters Henry Cartier-Bresson and Robert Capa, she has matured a great passion for travel reportage, genre that probably best suits her adventurous spirit ed her eclectic sportive gene.
From the desert of Atacama to the Kenyan savana, from the art galleries of the populated center of New Delhi and Mombay to the peaceful peruvian Andes, many have been her wondering but one thing which is always constant in her hands is her Nikon D700.
For her the photography is not only the testimonial of an observational act but more the documentation of an elaborated process of comprehension, participation and identification. To narrate the life of a folk you need to have lived it in first person, explains the artist, to portray an individual you need to read well in his eyes.
