From Here & Now Photograph - Limited Edition of 9

The Bruce Peninsula, a strip of land once the bottom of a sea, dives into the clear water of Georgian Bay. This sedimentary rock is more than a record of trillions of living organisms that removed massive volumes of carbon molecules from the air. The record of millions of generations of brainless lives coordinating control over their "living conditions." The "An Aqueous State" series is the framework for my exploration of water as a medium of Life. Two invisible properties of water molecules provide the foundation for it. The polarity of this molecule offers the ionized environment for assembling chains of amino acids, and its incredible thermal storage capacities in three different states stabilize the thermal range of Life living conditions. The simplicity of it is striking, but the complexity of outcomes is mesmerizing. Watching the surface of the water is like getting an inside view of Life's processes. * Image size: 30" x 50" (76 cm x 127 cm).
