Mari Saxon, fine art photographer, architect. Mari was born in Moscow. In 2022, she moved to the Massachusetts, USA. By education and profession, she has been an architect for over 25 years. Equally, she always observes the unnoticed unusual facets in people around her. The individuality of each person fascinates her, and when she notices something special, she can't wait to capture it. Gradually, Mari started creating an absurd reality in her photographs: her attic turns into a fairy-tale world, her models stand on their heads in high-heeled boots, and she herself turns into a multifaced mythical figure in self-portraits. Mari's works are surreal, symbolic, fabulous, often absurd. They don’t impose their own narrative; there is no obvious plot. Everyone can see their own story in them. The most stirring goal for Saxon is to engage the viewer in a dialogue through her art.
