The idea of this photo shoot was born to me after reading the "Tales of the Titans". "And six daughters were born from the mighty Deep and the mighty Old Man of the Sea. Three beauties, swan maidens, were born with silver-gray hair like sea foam... they looked like swans. But in the name of their father, Forkia, they were called forkids, and the gods and people called them grays - old women..."⠀ In the modern world, few people remember that initially the grays, like the gorgons, were beautiful maidens. Basically, they are depicted as three old women who all have one tooth and one eye. And it seemed to me that this is unfair, but it very clearly reflects our realities when we believe in what we are told without getting to the bottom of it. The Grai were not originally monsters, they were turned into such by the Olympian gods, who insidiously seized power. An innate sense of justice did not allow me to pass by this story and I wanted to show its origins. That's how the grays turned out in my vision. The next stage of this project will be the Gorgons, with whom a similar story happened. I will definitely tell it soon. The dresses for the project were sewn to order from a famous Moscow designer. The swan was made by Moscow decorators. Albino models were specially found for the role of models. The work took part in the Moscow A&F Biennale 2021. This work received a silver award at the international competition WPE2022 in the nomination "Creative Portrait". The photo is printed on natural canvas and white margins of 5 cm for the possibility of stretching on a stretcher. A certificate of authenticity is attached to the photo.

My name is Ianina. I'm an art photographer. I live and create in Moscow. I started doing photography consciously in 2010. I tried myself in different niches of the photo Department. A year ago, at the master class of Margarita Kareva, I realized that art photography is what I want to do. And returned to this genre. Perhaps my favorite direction is historical, fantasy, and costume shooting. I love shooting in a low key. I print my photos on canvas with a special coating that creates the effect of paintings.
