Vintage photo Gelatin silver print " Gray winter day" 1986-1988 From the author: I still found the time when in a city environment you could see such a picture, this is the mid-80s, the city of Astrakhan, the USSR. But everything is changing, and this picture is already going down in history ... Description: This photo looks better in the original than in the listing. The photo is printed in a dark room, and retouched by the author. The photo was printed in a dark room, both for a photo exhibition, and for archival storage (very good fixation, and a prolonged final rinse in running water) When printing used special masks (frames) To protect the photo from harmful effects of the environment, we used: • Expensive back carboard of museum quality (100% Cotton, PH = 0) • Archive yellow ribbon (PH = 0) • Printed in a darkroom on matte paper (cardboard) in the early 90s, but framed in 2009 • The photo was printed on a single sheet of 30x40 cm format using special masks, and the gray field at the edges of the image is photo paper (not a mat) • The white frame has slight signs of wear and if desired, it can be easily replaced with another frame • Frame size: 29 x 42,5 cm ( 11,4"x 16,7" ) • Image Size: 17.5 x 33 см ( 6,8"x 12,9 )

I started taking photographs and printing photographs in a dark room as a boy since 1970. In early 1979, I was already working as a professional photographer, and parallel, I got carried away with creative photography, I photographed for myself what I like. Most often it is an old town, old houses, details of old architecture, a person in an urban environment, nature. For me, photography is, first of all, Art photography, i.e. photography as an independent work of art. A good photo for me falls into two categories, it is a photo with a meaning, or with a mood. Yes, a photograph without any meaning, but which conveys the mood to us. And great luck when these two qualities are present in one work.
