About The Artwork

"GEOGRAPHIC" is a series of imaginary worlds in aquariums, in which borders between sky, earth and sea no longer exist. Inert components and plant material are assembled to recreate a fragment of terrestrial ecosystem. The landscape is then totally immersed in order to stage living sea creatures. In a continuous play between human artifice and the rules of Nature, "Geographic" depicts a community of living organisms, which ignores the spatial pattern of a normal environment as well as their distribution according to physical and geographical zones. This surreal unity of the living world refers to the founding principle of ecology stating that all kingdoms of nature and all creatures in them are interdependant.

My main intent as a visual artist and biologist is to re-establish connections between Man and Biota. Use of different means of mediation and scientific fields enables me to bring to light some exalting ecosystems, today seriously affected by human activities and climate change. Born in 1984, I live and work in Paris.
