Grizzly Bear too close Photograph - Limited Edition of 100

This is a very very close up of an Alaskan Grizzly Bear. I hadn't planned to get this close (about 5 feet away). I was hiding behind a large tree as I saw this bear walking towards me on a country road.The bear was heading for the river where it was going fishing for salmon and had no interest in me. I had selected a spot well of the road and since the bears in the area are only looking for salmon, i felt pretty safe there. But, a park ranger pulled up in a pickup truck and parked right on the side of the road. When she slammed the door shut, it made a loud noise which startled the peaceful bear. The bear started to run away from the truck and just by total accident, it was running on a path that took it right by the tree where I was hiding. I had no place to go and running from a bear is not an option, so I just stood there with camera in hand and rattled off a few shots as the bear ran past my tree. This shot was taken at the instant the bear looked up and saw me. We locked eyes as I took the shot and the bear continued on past me to the river. The Grizzly bears are commonly referred to as Brown Bears or just as "Brownies". Every August the Coho Salmon have a run up the rivers and streams throughout Alaska. The bears come to fatten up for the long winter. I had been observing several bears in the area for several days and had noted that they tried to stay away from humans and we also tried to keep our distance from them.
