About The Artwork
My third photography work of the new project from my maps obession. This time is dedicated to Steve Jobs, an icon, the person who changed our life in the last 40 years. As you can see, I have put, together with the Walter Isaacson biography, the places that I considered important for him. Of course I put San Francisco, the Silicon Valley, and Portland Oregon (where he attended some semesters of the local University). I let you decide if you agree with my choices of the other places mentioned. I didn't put Syria, as he did not want to be associated with that place. But I have considered Wisconsin. As always, in front of these maps, in front of his life, we ask ourselves: has he lived a happy life? Signed and numbered in the back of the image. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.

My latest endeavour: I paint on maps. First I put on them several layers of varnish, to make them heavy, textured, then I paint a text that comes in my mind, regarding the experience of human kind on that particular piece of earth. Through my maps I want to study the relationship between the names of people, facts, memories (both individual and collective) and the land and its representation. In response to every word, every symbol we perceive, the impressions we each have vary. And, most of all, I want to express my unconditional love for the United States of America. Every map is a unique work, on which I have spent many hours, both for the varnish and for the paint. In these hours I have concentrated myself on the territory and I was in touch with the people described by the map itself.
