Nicholas Sinclair is a British photographer born in London in 1954. His work has been published and exhibited internationally since 1983. The Chameleon Body, first published by Lund Humphries in 1996, is now recognised as the definitive work on body adornment in the 1990s. Work from this publication is seen in this selection, including previously unpublished photographs from the series. Other published works include Portraits of Artists, Crossing the Water and Five Cities. Sinclair was made a Hasselblad Master in 2003. In 2018 the German production company MarsMediaTV made a documentary about his work that includes photographs from each stage of his forty year career. Public collections include The National Portrait Gallery, London, The Victoria & Albert Museum, London, Albertina, Vienna and the Folkwang Museum, Essen.
