About The Artwork

The inspiration for all my work is what I find visually appealing and unique. Most often my work is abstract in appearance. I look for things that nobody else has seen or if they have they wouldn't give it a second glance, hidden works of art within everyday items we encounter. This involves looking at the fine details in things and using a macro lens to photograph them. I want to capture something you'll never grow tired of looking at and see something different in each time you look at it. This image will be printed on Moab Slickrock Metallic Pearl 260. It is a resin coated photographic paper with an ultra-smooth pearlescent finish and a unique metallic sheen that will make your photos pop. Gives art a fascinating, almost lifelike, 3D quality. Sincerely, Mike Cable.

Mike Cable is a multi award winning and published photographer. His photography offers a new way of looking at the marvelous details we encounter in daily life. Restlessly seeking the unusual in the usual, Cable’s carefully composed shots feature common objects reframed and revisited. Plunging into each object with a freshly born vigor, Cable is concerned with the photograph as a residue of a unique experiential encounter. Abstract marks and scrawls, patterns, systems and maps emerge from familiar artificial and organic matter. Rust, plant life, paint and architectonic abstractions in dynamic hues reveal their own unique look.
