About The Artwork
Limited Edition of 20. The series "In someone else" tells the story of the escapement in the man, in the dream of a special friend, about taking yourself through the other. This series is not about the relationship of two different people, but about the fact that the world has its features in the eyes of each other, the human nature is to look through the prism of himself and to identify himself with others. About unstable boundaries of personality integrity. About subtly losing yourself and become a reflection of the other. Mismatch imaginary to the real. And finally, the paradox, when absolutely immersed in another and then waking from this obsession, you feel yourself for the first time. I don`t give a clear interpretation of the images, giving the viewer an opportunity for personal perception. The series is inspired with the song of Depeche Mode "Only when I lose myself" and a novel by Chuck Palahniuk "Invisible monsters". The photo will be printed on high-quality photo paper. The image size is 50 x 50 cm. It will be shipped in a tube.

My name is Renat Renee-Ell. I am visual artist and photographer. I make conceptual series of photos and portraits, love color and minimalism. There are many existential themes in my work, such as the place of human in the world, the opposition of the individual to the general, loss, self immersion, relationships, the balance between the inner and the outer. It is the cosmos as something incomprehensible, simultaneously frightening and attractive. It is nostalgia, a dreamy sadness for a moment forever lost.It’s symbolism. Unspoken.
