My sunrise visit to this site overlooking Jodhpur city and fort was carefully planned and returned many useful images for my Chakra project. As the sun ball rose behind the beautiful mausoleum I adjusted the camera position slightly to bring it into the shot, an important adjustment for the overlay in my Manipura Chakra image, the solar plexus chakra. I was on a mission during these trips as I had been dreaming of doing a series on the chakras for many years, so each trip was a tightly scheduled dash to get the right components for that project to work. I relied on good light and weather or an image like this wouldn't have worked, but luckily the gods were on my side most of the time(!) and I moved closer to the first stage of completion for the epic (what could be called spiritual) project, the image gathering stage.

I was born in Trinidad and Tobago and travelled all over the world with my parents before settling in The UK for my education. I went to Sherborne School and Reading University before moving to London to be a photographic assistant to many different photographers including Anthony Blake and Spencer Rowell. Then I moved to Australia to further my career in photography that is now 35 years long as a commercial and art photographer in Sydney. I have had several exhibitions including Transformation 1992, Lifeforce 1996, Sahaja 2000, and have completed new spiritual works, The Chakras, 2014 that are shown here on Saatchi Art. I now also teach photography with Alfonso Photo tours in Sydney. I have two websites, Chrisljonesphoto.com for commercial and sahajaprints.com for prints.
