Brazil
Silvio Mor is Brazilian. He was born and raised in a small town in the state of São Paulo. He currently lives with his wife and two children in the southern region of Brazil. Self-taught from birth, he began to develop his artistic skills even before he owned a camera. He was very fond of enjoying pictures in books and magazines and drawing everything he will curiously observe around him, from tiny insects and objects, to people and landscapes. In his youth, he ventured to Curitiba in search of work, and there he marveled at the hectic pace of life in the capital, with the museums and libraries, where he spent hours reading and observing works by the great masters of photography. His first contact with a camera was with a Yashika MF-1, borrowed by his father-in-law, to be used on his honeymoon trip. It was love at first sight, as it happened when he met his beautiful wife Claudia, who he still lives with today. With a camera in hand or even with empty hands, he is inspired by the continuous flow of daily life on the streets and the subtle details of nature. Everything is captured in his mind or materialized in photos. He uses only essential photography techniques, without following rules, but always guided by his instincts. Thus he is able to capture the energy of the moment spontaneously and sincerely. It can be said that his style is a mixture of lived visual experiences, influences received in readings and observations of works by different artists from the past and contemporaries and his practical and unique ability to photograph. Unpretentiously, his intention is not the pursuit of beauty, but to awaken reflections that make us transcend the sensorial reality available to our eyes, to the infinite and imaginary universe, which inhabits the interior of our minds.
