About The Artwork

So much of photography is patience.... waiting for the perfect shot. Before digital photography, wasting film wasn't an option. Film cost money, and patience was currency in itself. Went out shooting with a pal of mine, he got his shot and went onward. I waited, and those horses happened to come over the hill just at the right moment. I captured those back lit ponies, and couldn't wait to develop the film. This is a polaroid transfer, which was a method of development that was popular in the 80s/90s. The technique made for a really cool final product! This is an enlargement of the original polaroid transfer.

I go by Kristoffersen, my surname. However, I'm not sure how to get that sorted out on this site... A bio from my web site: "As an accomplished fine art photographer, Kris Kristoffersen is unparalleled in echoing the culture of the authentic American landscape. His portfolio suggests an eye for intensity and a penchant for revealing the haunting splendor within his chosen images. Ranging from rustic cowboys to side-show carnivals to Native Americans, his pictures help us to reflect on those who lived in a bygone era. No matter what he selects as his focus, it is truly mesmerizing to see the world through Kristoffersen's lens. He has been published nationally and internationally in such works as Der Stern, Marie Clare, Landmark calendars, and books from St. Martins Press and KMW publishing. His works have been placed in MOMA, Tennessee State museum, The Frist museum, The Booth museum, Gene Autry museum, The Heard museum. He has also been collected by many corporations such as The Sheraton hotel, Jose Cuervo, Polygram, Taco Bell the TV series Nashville, and many more. He has also been collected in many private collections such as Vanna White,Johnny Depp, Lady Anetbellum, Steve Cropper, and Kevin Dobson from Knots Landing.
