Kind of Blue I Photograph

My Blue Light series is a powerfully emotive series of work. When my muses go under the blue light, I find that there's a different energy that takes place, I can't explain it, but it's happened enough that I definitely recognize it. This piece, Kind of Blue I, is an ode to the amazing work of Miles Davis, a reflection of the freestyle nature of jazz. My photography is very much like jazz in that I have a basic framework, my lighting & framing in particular but then I step back and allow the creatives to express themselves within this framework. The muse in this piece was playing a a haunting, emotional soundtrack by Billie Eilish was helped to shape the poses and emotions that were created that day. Finally, as part of my artistic journey, I'm starting to only do one of a kind editions. I feel this will not allow me to rely on past work and instead force me to continually create new pieces as I strongly believe in the creative process and want to constantly be experimenting and expanding.
