Krishna's Buttterball, South India. Limited Edition of 20 Photograph

Just behind the bus station in the small South Indian town of Mahabalipuram sits this huge granite boulder weighing around 250 tons. Apparently a Tamil king was so inspired by the balance that it led to the creation of the Thanjavur doll, a never-falling mud doll which had a half-rounded base. I always have an eye for the odd, slightly surreal so hung around for some people to pass by and but the children made the photograph for me. The print will have a Sepia-Selenium tone on fine art Giclee matt paper with a one inch white border for easy framing.
