Kudu Bulls Sunset - Limited Edition 1 of 15 Photograph

This is a very special image for me. I took it in a wilderness area named Mokala National Park, in South Africa's Northern Cape region. That area had only fairly recently become protected wilderness. When I grew up the exact place where the image was taken, was part of my father's cattle ranch. Even though it was a ranch, my dad set a large area aside exclusively to protect the indigenous wildlife of the area. There were always Kudus around, even in those days. Dad was a conservationist throughout his life and instilled a deep respect and love for nature in me. It broke his heart when he had to sell the ranch to cover his hospital expenses. On the day that I took the picture I was driving around, desperately searching for a worthwhile subject while the sun was sinking towards the horizon. Just when I was about to give up, I came across this bachelor herd of bulls. I know Dad would have been proud of the picture.
