About The Artwork
These colorful moments have been captured in Bhutan - the world’s Last Shangri-la, at their famous Mask Dance Festival. The locals consider this event as a time to cleanse from sins and receive abundant blessings. The energy of such intention and intensity of performance is indescribable, hence I used the camera as a medium to skillfully and artistically express behind the scene feelings. Not only the movement and color of these traditional festival costumes but also the evocative sound track filled the mountain air with incredible energy. These cumbersome outfits along with such mysterious masks uniquely transformed the monks into fantastical beings. I believe the frames were worth seizing and might resonate with those who can sensitively experience the rush of several energies, because visuals if taken from the heart have the power to transmit energy from distant lands and leave their viewers in awe.
