Looking Up at the Borsa Palace - Porto, Portugal Photograph

The Palácio da Bolsa do Porto. Stepping inside the glass-domed Pátio das Nações (Hall of Nations), where the exchange between money merchants once operated, I was spellbound by the colours, architecture and grandiose design of the interior towering over me. I put on the widest lens I had, got as low to the ground as I could manage and channeled my inner-child staring up in pure wonder to a slice of Portuguese history. The time of day could not have been more perfect, with how the early afternoon sunshine breaks through the dome and creates a luxurious glow against the emblems and baroque artwork and decor. Whilst it may not transport me to a moment of paradise, it does have inspire my artistic perspectives by admiring the structural designs, the representative artistry and marvel at the feats of human engineering and architectural genius for a building that dates back to the mid-1800s.
