This image is part of a reportage I took in Gallipoli, Apulia, South Italy. Each easter since the 17th Century, the member of the town's brotherhoods (so - called "Mai") perform a spectacular and mysterious procession to show their religious devotion. Each brotherhood ("confraternite") has its own representative color for dress and mask.
