About The Artwork

I search for softness, childishness, and innocence mixed with signs of the passage of time and the decaying body. My grotesque figures are social, current and personal portraits. They express an ambivalent, cynical and mocking outlook diluted with empathy and compassion

Date of Birth: 17/03/1977 Country of Origin: Israel I’m a multidisciplinary artist, my chosen art medium is site- specific installation. The interaction with the physical space, its history, the stories and people that surround it, interlaced with questions of belonging, gender, religious, cultural and behavioral coercion are strong and constant triggers for my creation. I craft, sculpt, draw, sketch- by hand and digitally, print, photograph, make video-art and performance. I mold everything into the space around me. Thus through repetition and mass production I create a strong sense of excess and abundance. I Manipulate everyday objects to express the chaotic side effects of life and question consumerism, gluttony, sexuality, boredom, pain, routine, and livelihood. I’m interested in the sense of exploitation as opposed to pleasure and normalization. In the objects I create, I search for softness, childishness, and innocence mixed with signs of the passage of time and the decaying body. My grotesque figures are social, current and personal portraits. They express an ambivalent, cynical and mocking outlook diluted with empathy and compassion. For 5 years I worked with a partner creating large-scale object-filled installations in abandoned and charged sites. Today I’m focusing more on the margins of life while examining the gap between the Sisyphean daily struggle for existence and the desire to create and live, The urge for life vs. the desire for death. Eros vs. Thanatos.
