About The Artwork
The inspiration of this collection is a trilogy and the particular photo refers to "Melinoe", daughter of Zeus (The Olympian God of Greek mythology). He took the form of Pluto to unite with Persephone. The fruit of the Union in mythology was so important that an Orphic hymn was created to it. Malinoe is an important deity of the Orphic religion (Orphism) and is a key cythonian nymph, causing nightmares and madness. She was half white and half black, "melas" means black, thus representing the duality of the Heavenly Jupiter and the Katachtonian Hades-Pluto as well as her Katachthonian and lunar quality.
