I have an insatiable desire to make better paintings.Thus, consistently seeking inroads for new information to flow. This path is constantly revealing a novel experience to me, and it is addicting. I have read and heard numerous artists talk about their coming of age story. The ones that resonate with me express a desire to learn and uncover the secrets of the past and inside oneself. When I’m “doing it right” then my issues all hang out there, exposed and vulnerable, on display in my work. Erik Castellanos is practicing studio artist with a focus on painting and drawing. Castellanos has been part time Adjunct Faculty at Sacramento State University since the Spring of 2013. Currently he is the Artist in Residence at The United Methodist Church in Sacramento, California.
