This series explores the sensorial gratification and intense satisfaction experienced whilst encountering the earth's extremities. Humankind has long and courageously sought this deep contentedness and connectedness which arises from extreme geographical situations. The vivid, flowing shapes act as a literal representation of the heightened energy observed within the body at these frontiers. Paris intends to induce a questioning of whether this feeling of thrill or fullness generated by the landscape is caused simply by visuals alone or whether there is more going on within nature which is simply unseen or unknown. The use of pretreated analogue film creates this brightly hued and playful fluidity. This photograph is hand printed using traditional darkroom techniques therefore each print is slightly unique.
