ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was in Curitiba, Brazil, strolling in the garden of a museum, when I saw this plant. I was motivated to make a photograph, because the Mulungu has quite exotic flowers. Through digital resources, in order to give a more minimalist character, I removed the original background and opted for gray. Thus, I highlighted the characteristics of the plant and arrived at the result I wanted for this work.

Martiniano Ferraz is a Brazilian artist who lives in Recife, Pernambuco. It was during holiday trips, while still working as an architect, that he was charmed by photography. Nature, architecture and the urban are the themes he usually photographed. From 2020, while isolated in his home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Martiniano Ferraz began to produce also geometric and abstract digital arts, where it is common to have vibrant colors and three-dimensional effects. One of its greatest sources of inspiration, in the use of color, is the art produced by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes.
