My Butterfly Story I Photograph

The Butterfly Story by Zhuang Zi, a Chinese philosopher of 2,300 years ago, was a metaphor that pioneered the now trendy concepts of parallel universes and dual-realities. To me It was a question of which was the preferable reality after I came to the U.S. in 1983. Caught between two different cultures and realities, I found myself totally unprepared while stuck in an impasse with no way out. Neither world appeared real in my subconsciousness, for quite some time. However, straying between past pride and future expectations, though both illusional, did shed some light on the disorientation of my mind.
