This young girl was with her mother and great-grandmother. At eight years old she already showed much depth of life and gentle wisdom in her young eyes. Her great-grandmother was a good friend of mine - at 65 she was tap-dancing for the "oldies" and taking young Natasha rollerblading. Natasha was a regular visitor in her home. This is a silver gelatin photograph. The print was made not long after the original photograph was taken and thus is a vintage print. The grainy texture of the image comes from my selection of black and white film, darkroom chemistry and paper. It is signed and editioned on the front. It is window-mounted in archival museum board and presented in mylar ready for framing. The size of the image is 32.5cm x 26.5cm. The size of the print itself is 41x30.5cm. The fully mounted photograph, including the border, is ready to fit a 20x16" frame, ie 51x41cm.

Australia
"Photography as an alchemical journey of connection" An Australian fine art photographer, I work primarily with black and white film What interests me is the way photography can reach into the depths of the 'soul' of something, allowing a pathway to connection to that which is both within us and greater than us. Whether that be portraiture or an exploration of windows or a collaborative work inspired by Nijinsky or the lyrebird, I am interested in the essence of things and the mystery within and beyond. Since 2005 I have exhibited in galleries in Australia and Berlin and currently have gallery representation in Berlin and Australia. My work is held in collections in Australia, the US, and Europe. Using black and white film with a range of small, medium and large format cameras, I handcraft gelatin silver prints in my darkroom and studio in Australia's Yarra Valley.
