An architect client of mine requested that I photograph a Nautilus Shell. .He had a client who loved the lines and 'feelings' of this particular shell and wanted to design a structure making use of these elements. But he also wanted a visual presentation that probed more abstractly into the shell itself. My client came to me because he was familiar with my work in abstracts of flowers and rust patterns. I purchased the shell from a dealer in Florida. I set it on a black background and watched it under various natural light shifts over three weeks. I made several hundred exposures with a macro lens, with extension tubes, and with a 24-105 zoom. Post production was Photoshop. Too much fun. The original group was printed and presented to the client. The images offered here are all Limited Editions of #1 - #25 (each) and are printed on Archival 22x17 acid free Fine Art paper.
