My interest in the Anthotype, a process that requires a positive light resist to create a positive image, utilizes sunlight's bleaching action on plant pigments. It is considered an ephemeral process unless the print is protected from further exposure to light (except when viewing). Examples of William Herschel's Anthotypes from the 1840's are still quite lovely and stable to this day.

Born on El Dia de los Muertos (All Souls Day), 1965 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. I seek to participate in a dialogue between science and art as well as with historians and storytellers. I am also interested in the act of photographing especially in regards to self-portraiture. www.franisschanberger.com francisschanberger.wordpress.com
