"Of estranged relationships" tells the stories of the multi-faceted, complex relationships that exist in nature, and humans. The sea needs to freeze or the snow needs to melt in order for them to become one (Ego). The barrier that keeps them apart also allows them to experience one another side-by-side (Dependancy). The cold, blue natural light that envelops the sea is challenged by the warm glow of the street lamp (Hope). The fluid form of the sea pits against the rigid stones forever (Perseverance). A singular man-made barrier is thrust through the bosom of nature - bringing order, creating chaos (Domination).

Dr Rehan Zia holds a practice-led PhD in photography/visual effects craft practice. Rehan has been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society (FRPS) - the highest level of RPS distinctions - as well as the Fellowship of the Royal Society for Arts (FRSA). Visual storytelling lies at the core of Rehan's creative practice, teaching and research. He has a passion for telling stories through light, form and colour, creating images that lie on the cusp of fantasy and realism. They are a window into his mind's eye and depict a world that is real yet heavily influenced by his own life experiences. A tapestry of romanticism and escapism binds the aesthetic that depicts a desire to view the world almost as an alternate reality on the artist's own terms. Rehan's methods and practice are a culmination of over a decade of teaching, research and practice into classical painting, photography, filmmaking, visual effects and contemporary digital imaging technologies. Rehan uses both purist and contemporary digital photography approaches such as high dynamic range photography, panorama stitching, focus stacking and super resolution to create his fantastic pieces of art. Rehan's work is influenced by great purist photographers from Group f/64, particularly Ansel Adams, as well as classical landscape painters such as Turner and Constable. Given the critical and significant role of light in his practice, the Dutch Masters and the Pre-Raphaelites also have a huge influence upon the practice. All Giclée prints are printed on archival paper. All limited edition prints are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity bearing Rehan's signature. Rehan is a principal academic at the prestigious National Centre of Computer Animation, Bournemouth University, UK where he teaches a wide range of visual effects related courses.
