About The Artwork
Population control had been mooted by Liu Shaoqi as early as in 1962 when China had only 0.6 billion people. Unfortunately, it collapsed when Liu fell was persecuted by Zhang Qing. He was mocked by crowds and died under harsh treatment. His partner, Deng Xiao Ping was demoted and sent to a remote province. By the time Deng returned to power, China's population had already reached 1.2 billion. Something drastic needed to be done. Therefore, Deng imposed a policy of 1 child per couple.

An Australian resident in Hong Kong since 2000. I sold my first travel adventure pieces when I was 19. Since then my writing and/or photography has been in numerous magazines including Action Asia, South China Morning Post, HK Magazine, Panorama, Morning Calm and Dynasty and books like Australia Towards The Milenium.
