About The Artwork
Printed on the precious Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta 325 gsm paper using Epson UltraChrome Pro K3 pigments. I chose to combine the Hahnemühle Baryta paper with the Epson inks in order to get deep shades of black and shiny shades of white at the same time, emphasizing every detail of the artwork for reaching museum quality standard. Thanks to this combination of elements given by the Hahnemüle Baryta paper, which is beautifully textured, and the Epson UltraChrome Pro K3 pigments , which use 3 different kinds of black color during the printing process, the artwork seems to pop up from the wall to the viewer and its brilliant colors last over than 75 years. Hand-numbered and signed by the artist. It comes with 3 cm white border in order to handle the print without touching the printed area. PREMATURE is a mixed media art project where each artwork has been realized throughout a process that involved both painting and photography. From the artist's point of view, each image represents a small glimpse of his unconscious forced to come out through the creative process. About the artistic intention, once exhibited to the public, every PREMATURE is conceived as a collaboration between the artist and the observer, where the image given by the former becomes an input for the latter who can "goes into the picture" for creating his/her own work of art.

PREMATURE is the mixed media art project by the multimedia artist Giovanni De Benedetto. The pictures do not mean to represent subjects pre-defined by the artist but rather, he wants them to be conceived as visual inputs for the observers so they can find their own personal meaning inside of the images. In this way, every viewer who looks at the same picture creates his own private work of art, making each artwork individually unique. The observation of the artworks becomes a process that establishes an ideal relationship between the artist and the viewers where the latter loses themselves into the work of art in order to decipher it. This is a way of bringing the observers close to the artist by establishing a creative connection with them for finding new creative solutions together. Indeed, it is the sharing of different points of view that makes PREMATURE a powerful work. The subjects try to embrace multiple perspectives at the same time in order to know a bit more about each other in a deep level and ultimately feeling more close as human beings. So far, the project presents three collections divided by biennium and the artworks are numbered by the sequential order of development.
