This work is made and photographed in the studio. The fluids are contained within a circular vessel to create a circular outcome. Circles have strong symbolic meaning which interplays with the symbolism of blood and milk. The purity and innocence of milk is violated by the introduction of blood. Milk symbolises the Mother and with that eternal life, fertility and the food of the Gods. Blood when working within an organism symbolises the very essence of life and life force. However, once separated from a body it communicates ideas of pain and mortality. To create this piece, blood is injected into the milk-filled vessel under the surface - the blood then settles into a pattern entirely dictated by itself and the milk. Once settled a third ingredient is added which makes the fluids combine in a dynamic explosion of movement. Available in one size as part of a Limited Edition of 10. The finished works are C-Type prints mounted onto Dibond and faced with perspex using the unique Durospec process, an archival mounting solution.
